Bird Dog Training

Our training program runs year round whether you want to get your pup started right or your Lost Arrow trained hunting dog tuned up for the hunting season. Our spring training rotations normally begins April 1st weather permitting and runs through mid to late October. I prefer to work with a dog for a 3 month period to ensure the dog has a proper foundation and has developed learned behavior. When the proper foundation is achieved it can be referenced and understood by the dog when called upon to perform. The month of Sept will normally be spent training dogs which have been through the SCS program on wild birds in preparation for the bird hunting season.

We will need to schedule your dog to arrive no later than the first week of the training rotation. Please let me know in advance when you dog will be arriving and whether your dog will be delivered to the Kennels or flown into the Salt Lake International Airport.

You are welcome and encouraged to visit your dog while in training with us. If you would like to schedule a visit, just let me know. I suggest all visits to be after the dog completes the first month of training. This allows the dog ample time to settle into his new environment and routine before the first visit.

Training Cost
The cost of training includes boarding, feed, all training equipment, training birds and transportation from the Salt Lake International Airport to the kennels if required.

Foundation Training: $625.00 per month

Puppy Development: $500.00 per month

September Tune-up:  Wild bird training $700.00 ( a surcharge will be assessed depending on fuel prices and the cost of feed to be shared equally by all dogs participating in the training program).
