Welcome to Lost Arrow Gun Dogs. Lost Arrow was created to honor a long standing tradition in my family. I grew up in the Deep South where bird hunting and bird dogs are a way of life. I have been involved with the Brittany breed since my early 20’s, for over 30 years. I feel that bird dogs, if given the right exposure to birds and the proper exercise and training can excel in the sport which they were bred to perform.

At Lost Arrow Gun Dogs, every dog is given the training which will insure that your dog will reach its full potential as a hunter and companion. By tapping into a dog’s natural ability and molding its behavior to work with the hunter your dog can become an asset and hunting dog you are proud to take a field. At Lost Arrow Gun Dogs we know how important your dog is to you. We treat every dog we train as if we were going to hunt it ourselves during the upcoming season. Special attention will be paid to a dog’s ability to learn and become comfortable with the commands we teach it during its time with us at Lost Arrow Gun Dogs. At Lost Arrow Gun Dogs we base our training program on the Silent Command System (SCS) perfected by Rick and Ronnie Smith. The SCS is a tried and tested method of bird dog training which is recognized the world over as a humane and effective way to get the best performance out of your bird hunting companion.

I am a Huntsmith Gold Level professional bird dog trainer. There are only 6 professionals certified at this level of proficiency in the US and Canada with the Huntsmith program. I travel to Big Cabin Oklahoma on an annual basis to work with Ronnie Smith, Susanna Love and Gabe Gaudern(Bitteroot Gun Dogs) and enhance my training program. By doing so I stay abreast of the latest in dog training techniques employed by the apprenticeship program at Ronnie Smith Kennels. We have an array of services which include, Puppy Development, three months of an intensive Foundation program and Finished dog training for those who want a polished hunting dog to be proud of. We can also accommodate those who wish to train their dogs themselves but need some help designing a training program for their dogs and themselves.
